Sacramento Section

Are you an environmental professional in the Sacramento area?  Come join the Sacramento section of the NCC-AHMP, a vibrant group of professionals.  The Sacramento area is home to the State government and supports a variety of technology, manufacturing, agriculture, health & safety, and waste management interests.  Our meeting topics/facility tours span a variety of disciplines.   Section tours and meetings provide our membership and interested professionals in our community with regulatory updates, information about technology changes that may impact business, as well as professional networking opportunities.  With assistance from the Bay Area and National, we are promoting the value of the CHMM credential to State government officials.

We have a variety of opportunities that include:

  • Learning more about the CHMM credential program and the National Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management Course,
  • Having one of our Board of Directors conduct a brown-bag at your place of work explaining the CHMM credential program and value of membership.
  • Becoming a Section officer or Chapter member of the Board of Directors.

Likewise, do you have an idea for a technical tour or speaker?  Do you know a great place to have a luncheon or dinner meeting, or other ideas to help this growing Sacramento section prosper?  We want to hear from you!  Please contact us at [email protected].

The Sacramento Section chairperson serves on the Board of Directors and is the liaison between the Section and Chapter leadership.  Our Sacramento organization structure generally parallels the Chapter organizational structure.  Section specific leadership opportunities as officers are available.  Officers include:

  • Section Chair – Acts as Section liaison with Chapter.  Management functions.
  • Secretary – Meeting check-in and drafts Meeting Minutes.  Send minutes to Chapter Secretary for Board of Directors approval.
  • Programs Coordinator – Selects meeting venues.  Coordinates guest speakers and events.

Election of officers typically occurs in September of each year with one-year terms of service beginning the following January.  Members of the Sacramento Section are encouraged to apply for leadership roles at the Chapter and National level too.
